However, at the time of laying eggs, Eolo out of compassion restricted its winds so that waves were calm for whole seven days during which she laid eggs. Thus, those seven days came to be known as ‘Halcyon days’ and Alcyone was named the goddess of peace and tranquility. Are you surprised that a name of wine can have such a history?
